Labeling Body Parts
Work on labeling body parts with your child.
Point to a body part and have your child label it. Then you let you child point to a body part, and you label it.
Head
Eyes
Nose
Ears
Legs
Arms
Hands
Feet
Mouth
Talk to your child about what we can do with our body parts.
Ears are for listening to voices or music.
Eyes are for seeing/looking at everything all around us.
Hands are for touching.
Feet are for walking, running, jumping.
Mouth is for eating, talking and singing.
I am Special
Sing the song to the Tune: Frere Jacques
“I am special
I am special
Look at me
Look at me
I am very special
I am very Special
Look at me,
Look at me!”
Have a small mirror on hand or use the bathroom mirror and have your child sing this song while looking at them self in the mirror.
You could change the words to work on simple emotions:
I am happy
I am sad
I am angry
Talk with your child about how their face changes with the different emotions.

As the weather gets cooler, being able to independently dress becomes more and more important. Help your child practice putting on their coat and shoes and see if they can start to help zipper.
If putting on a coat by reaching behind is too difficult, have them practice this coat trick!
Have your child make an All About ME page like the one below from paper at home and use crayons or markers. You can use any paper you have at home.
1.Help your child with their name by writing it in a yellow marker or highlighter and letting them trace it. Or give them a visual model to copy.
2.Help them write their age, again by giving them a visual model of the number to trace or copy. Practice counting on their fingers their age.
3.Have them color with their favorite color.
4.Have your child draw a picture of themselves.
5. Have them draw something they love and you can write the words for what they love.
Take a picture of your child’s All About Me page and email it to me or post on class dojo.
