Self Service is a private app catalog for computers enrolled and managed by BC. It allows users to install, configure, and update apps and settings without needing to enter an administrator password. Self Service is available in the Applications folder of your Mac, as well as in your Dock.
You can install applications as well as printers from Self Service. Printers will include the driver as well as the settings required.
Note that some applications may require a license be purchased. Unless stated, the installer will be a trial version.
Applications in Self Service have been tested by the tech team for security and stability issues. If there is an application you would like to be included in the catalog, please email or see Mr. Mabry.
Keeping your applications up to date is very important for both security and general functionality. Self Service will notify you when a newer version than the one you have installed is available. Please update these applications as soon as possible. You will need to quit the app to be updated. For this reason, we will allow you to choose when to install the app except for situations where an app has a critical security fix. In those cases a deadline will be set. If you do not manually update by this time, the installer will run automatically.
