This week, we have had an exciting lineup of learning! In Inquiry, we have recapped all the wonderful things we have discovered over the past two modules, focusing now on how we can use patterns to make responsible choices for our environment. We have been continuing our hands-on work and taking lots of action by caring for both our indoor and outdoor classrooms, building bug hotels and bird feeders.
For Maths, we have focused on 3D shapes, learning all about spheres, cubes, cuboids and cones. We investigated which of these shapes roll or slide also!
In Phonics this week, we have been learning the sounds ‘ee’ as in bee and ‘ea’ as in tea. We also introduced the tricky word ‘are.’ The children practised reading and writing these sounds and word through fun activities, helping to build confidence and early reading skills in an engaging way.
It has been an engaging week of learning, with the children showing enthusiasm, curiosity and care in everything they do.
