A massive thank you to everyone who donned a red nose, a bright outfit or simply dug deep into their pockets last Friday. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised a fantastic £350 for Comic Relief!
Where Your Money Goes
Every penny of that £350 will go toward helping people living incredibly tough lives—both here in the UK and across the globe. From supporting mental health programs to providing emergency shelter and food, your donations are making a tangible difference.
This week, the academy was visited by Challenge Partners. The visiting team was made up of leaders from across the country who came to collaborate, celebrate and challenge all aspects of life here at Leigh Academy Bearsted.Â
We were absolutely thrilled with the outcome of the visit, which highlights the incredible work our staff team do here. Whilst we await the formal report, which will be shared in due course, we believe that the comments made by children in the pupil voice panel sum things up incredibly well:
‘Everyone is kind’
‘This is an IB PYP school and it means for normal schools they teach the regular curriculum...we don’t do that, we get more than a normal curriculum'
It’s amazing how everyone slots into place with each other. No matter their differences, I don’t know how people do it here but they just get along.'
'I love it. I could go on and on. My top three? Number three: all of the lovely experiences and trips. I'm excited to see what's next. Number two: the lessons. Even though it's normal lessons, it just gives me more joy. Number one: the people. They're so kind and nice and fill each other with joy. It's adults and children, everyone here’.Â
We are very much looking forward to welcoming the parents and carers of our Young Voices Choir Club to a special performance on Tuesday 31st March, from 3:15pm to 3:35pm, in the Academy Hall.
Mrs Tipple has today sent a separate communication regarding this to the parents and carers of the children involved. Please note that this performance is intended solely for the parents and carers of those children who have attended the club and worked so hard on their rehearsals.
UPDATE: New events added for Module 5 including: Class Photos and trips for Years 3 & 5.
