This week, our main task was our writing of a narrative based our class novel - Wolf Brother. The children planned, and drafted a text on the journey of a young stone age boy (Torak), whose father is killed by a demonic bear and has to survive on his own. The focus was to include action/reaction, building suspense and descriptive vocabulary over a number of paragraphs. The children demonstrated strong imaginative thinking through their creative ideas and detailed storytelling.
In Science, we looked at 'Gears' as part of our inquiry on forces. We learned the purpose of gears, where we would find them, and made our own gears (cogs) to investigate if the size affects the speed, direction and effort.
