Year 2 have had an exciting week! In English, the children began the book The Great Explorer, which inspired them to become explorers themselves. They carefully considered what resources they would need for their own adventures and explained why each item was important. The children also thought about the type of explorers they would be, linking their ideas to the Learner Profile Attributes (LPAs) and reflecting on the qualities needed for exploration, such as being curious, knowledgeable and risk-takers.
In maths, the children have been learning about arrays and using them to support their understanding of multiplication. They enjoyed representing calculations visually and making connections between repeated addition and multiplication.
Science lessons focused on the properties of materials, where the children investigated and compared different materials based on their characteristics. In Inquiry, we learned about famous inventors and their inventions, discussing how creativity and perseverance can lead to ideas that change the world.
Keep up the excellent work!
