Chartwell visited Chartwell House this week! Despite the forecast, we successfully managed to avoid the worst of the rain showers, allowing us plenty of time to explore both the beautiful grounds and the historic house itself. We were particularly fortunate to experience the house while it was decorated for Christmas. The children made the most of this opportunity by engaging with the knowledgeable stewards, asking thoughtful questions and deepening their understanding. The students were truly incredible representatives of our school, consistently showing principled, balanced, and inquisitive approaches to learning throughout the day. We were exceptionally proud that members of the public commented on the children’s respectful behavior, and the stewards and volunteers were so impressed by their conduct that they contacted the school on two separate occasions to praise them, please read the e-mail sent below:'
'Every steward, yes "Every steward" , commented just how wonderful these pupils from Bearsted were during their visit today.
It was not just their politeness, their quietly and willingly following instructions from their teachers- it was their level of interest and focus on the House and, amazingly, not just the Christmas themed decoration!
Two pupils said they really "loved the picture in the Secretaries Room". When asked to expand, they said "..the one of the White House...the one with maps behind it". Anyone would be very pleased to be their class teacher, indeed should be very proud of their Chartwell Class'
