It has been a week of reflection and creativity in Year 6. In English, we finalized our internal monologues based on Rose Blanche. The children produced some incredibly emotive pieces, highlighting just how much progress they have made in writing for a specific purpose and adapting their tone. In Maths, we have been calculating the area and perimeter of triangles and rectilinear shapes, tackling some challenging questions that required deep mathematical reasoning. Finally, we launched a new inquiry into the conflict between ‘Man vs. Nature,’ using the world of Pandora (Avatar) as inspiration. Combining this with our Art focus on developing creative drawing styles, the class designed their own unique Pandoran creatures in the style of concept art. We can’t wait to use these designs to write detailed character descriptions next week!
