This week in Year 3, we have had so much fun exploring a wide range of new learning experiences! We began by taste-testing Mediterranean foods and exploring different Spanish dishes — a delicious way to make connections with our inquiry into cultures and lifestyles.
In English and PSHE, we became news reporters, recording videos about the dangers of the sun and how to keep ourselves safe. We also investigated light and fire, learning how Stone Age people used them for survival. To build on this, we went on a light hunt around the classroom to discover where we could find light, darkness, and shadows.
In music, we learnt about the style of Cuban music, exploring rhythm and beat patterns and playing instruments to match the pulse. In PE, we worked as a team to solve pattern-matching challenges using the process of elimination — with the patterns hidden behind a bench, communication and problem-solving were key!
