BCC Swimming Carnival 2024

Primary School (Yrs 3 – 6) Swimming Carnival Information

Date:         Tuesday, 6th February, 2024

Location:        Charlestown Swimming Pool, Dickinson St Charlestown

Start Time:       8.30am

Finish Time:   2.20pm

Travel:         Own transport                                                                                                                    

For students who need to be transported to the venue by bus, a small number of seats will be available. 

Parents will need to send in a written note stating that permission is given for your son/daughter to travel on the College bus. Please give this note to Mrs Paardekooper at the office by Friday 4th February.

If parents arrive to take their child home early, please see Mrs Paardekooper at the pool entrance, and an announcement will be made for the child. Any parent entering the pool confines will need to scan in via the QR code in the entry area.

If another parent is taking your child home, a note is required from you to be given to your child’s teacher on the day.

Uniform:   House Colours or Sport Uniform 

Booth = Blue,     Cuthbert = Green,      Liddell = Yellow,   Robinson = Red

What to bring:       Swimming costume (one piece for girls), towel, sunscreen, hat.

No streamers allowed.

Canteen:       Is available at certain times for lunch and morning tea.

Cost:     Students are paid for by the College, however, there is a Spectator Fee of approx $3.00.

We ask that parents stay on the amenities side of the pool or at the far end of the 50m pool, both on the grassed areas. Parents should not be in the 25m pool area or on the grandstand side of the pool. 

Students are to sit in their Year groups, not with parents.

Students who are weak swimmers or non-competitive will have the opportunity to participate in novelty events for stickers, points and fun in the 25m pool.

PLEASE NOTE – The 25m pool option is NOT available to any Yr 2 students who choose to compete at the carnival.

Cancellation due to inclement weather (ie storms) will be advised through the BCC Sentral Parents App or by phoning the College after 8am.

Please note that the carnival is likely to proceed in rain, as backup dates are unavailable.
