Primary School Athletics Carnival

Event Information

Date:  Thursday 9th May, 2024

Location: Hunter Sports Stadium, Glendale


Due to the popularity of the venue, it is impossible to book another day before the Zone Athletics Carnival.

*Kindergarten and Year 1 activities may be adversely affected by the weather.

Therefore, the carnival for those children in Kindergarten and Year 1 may be cancelled due to weather.

If that occurs, these children ONLY should come to school for normal lessons.

A decision will be made by 7:30am in regard to Kindergarten and Year 1.

The day will start at 8:30am, at Glendale, with students finding their teacher to have their name marked off the class

roll.

Events and activities will begin at 8:45am

For Kindergarten and Year 1, students’ activities will conclude at approximately 1:00pm and parents are free to take

their children home. There will be supervision by class teachers until the conclusion of the carnival if you are unable to

take them home at 1:00pm. This year, K and 1 will also participate in “The Gym Experience”, a program run by Hunter

Sports Centre.


Don’t forget to have your child’s name marked off before leaving!!


For all other students (Yrs 2-6) the carnival will conclude at approximately 2:20pm. Students may be collected before

then, but do need to have their name marked off the roll, outside the recording room.

OOSH will operate as normal. Students going to OOSH must write their name on the bus list at the College office to get

back to school.


IF YOUR CHILD REQUIRES THE BUS, THEY MUST WRITE THEIR NAME ON THE BUS LIST AT THE OFFICE. THE BUS WILL

LEAVE AT 8:40AM. These students will likely miss the first and last events.

Students should bring the following:

- Hat

- Water Bottle

- Sunscreen

- Jacket / Rain protection

- Packed recess and lunch (A canteen with a limited range of food is available)


2024 PARKING

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION REGARDING PARKING DUE TO CONSTRUCTION WORK

There will be no parking available in the direct precinct of Hunter Sports Centre carparking for your event. We strongly

suggest that you plan your trip to Hunter Sports Centre well in advance.

Where possible to limit the number of cars that are accessing the Centre we recommend:

 Bus drop off and pick up is the preferred transport option.

 Spectators should consider public transport.

 Carpooling is encouraged.

 There will be limited disability parking onsite.
