FUNDAMENTAL MOVEMENT SKILLS - Here are some of the skills I'd like you to practice in Term 2
These skills we have practiced specifically from K-2, and in games they are used in K-6
These are skills to practice in PE time. There is a video showing how the skill should be performed. Students can watch the video to get an idea of how the skill should be performed.
There are 12 skills that we would normally cover by the end of Year 2 and have a solid understanding of by the end of Year 4.
I have also attached a document that shows the elements, how to practice and common errors.
A lot of the games we would use for these involve large groups, but for now, students should practice the skills in order to help their progression.

The following NSW PDHPE K-6 Outcomes are explored in this unit of work:
PD2-4 - performs and refines movement skills in a variety of sequences and situations
PD2-5 - applies strategies to solve movement challenges
PD2-7 - describes strategies to make home and school healthy, safe and physically active spaces
PD2-8 - investigates and participates in physical activities to promote the benefits of physical activity on health and well-being
PD2-9 - demonstrates self-management skills in taking responsibility for their own and others' actions
PD2-11 - combines movement skills and concepts to effectively create and perform movement sequences
