“Get Your Weave on Route 66”
MBG 2024 Basket Weaving Convention
It’s MBG Convention Time!! Planning has been underway for months with this year’s 2024 Co-Chairs; Cheryl Johner, Vicky Frayne, Susan Brandon, and our dedicated Committee Chairs. We continually change and improve our planning for conventions from year to year and are working this year to make improvements where possible. So make your plans to gather this year in St. Louis to “Get Your Weave On Route 66”! Come for the entire convention or for one or more days.
Here are some of the changes you can expect this year:
The hotel renovation is complete and every space has been updated. The entrance and hotel registration desk has moved east and you now enter directly into the event space concourse.
Shelf lighting has been added around the entire perimeter of the main ballroom.
In order to continue to hold a high quality convention, registration fees are staying at $45.
The Guild will be paying for half of the cost of the buffet on Friday.
The Hospitality Room will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Credit card payment will be accepted this year for Registration fees, meal costs, patches, and class fees.
None of us have a crystal ball to know what August will bring COVID-wise. Given the difficulty of planning for a large event in the age of Covid, you may find changes to this year’s convention. We are planning for the in-person format for the Silent Auction and Exhibit Room. We are also planning to have the ever popular lunch buffet and Teacher/Vendor reception, and we still plan to do Awards night in the main ballroom where we have plenty of room for social distancing.
In order to attend, you must be a Missouri Basketweavers Guild (MBG) member for the membership year ending December 31, 2024.
Any MBG member attending the 2024 convention who encourages a first time attendee to attend this year’s convention will receive special referral vendor bucks to redeem.
