A cute little tote that is an easy weave but so versatile. Great to take to the pool to hold keys, lotion, phone, sunglasses, water bottle, etc. Colors used: hyacinth, turquoise, green. Ribbon is included to do an overlay on the 3/4" weaver. Base and turquoise handles are Amish crafted. Spokes will be glued in base and weaver-ready for class. A charm kit is included to be made during class.

Bicycle Bouquet

Start this "bicycle basket" by inserting 2 colors and 2 sizes of reed into a round oak base. A simple weave with 3 sizes and 3 colors of weavers gets you up the sides. Lash the rim with a coordinating waxed cord. Lace on the green leaves. Create the looped flowers with dyed maple strips using a mold to get them just right. Set your basket into the wire bicycle frame, add a plant or sweets and enjoy.

Chocolate Mint Trifle

This layered look reed basket is sure to tempt the taste buds of all who weave it. Starting with a wood base the student will build their "trifle" with plaited rows of mint green, dark chocolate brown, and natural twined 'whip cream'. The basket is finished with a folded rim.

Christmas Gourd

Using a small gourd for an ornament is easy with this glorified crochet stitch. An added touch of beads around the neck of the gourd make a pop of color. The gourds will be cut, cleaned, and painted - ready for you to add any number of colors of wax linen thread for design.

Diagonal Folded Pouch

A sweet little pouch made with washable paper. Learn how to fold a woven base and create a three dimensional usable and durable pouch. Finish with a folded or rolled rim and curls. Tack your pouch to the wall or add an artist spun cord and use it as a purse. Students will have some color choices.

Prerequisite: Diagonal plaiting experience is helpful.

Special tools needed for class: A small packer, several toothless micro-clips, 10-15 new bobby pins and a pair of sharp scissors.

Do the Twist

Ribs are glued to a wooden handle in a twisted shape. Secondary ribs will need to be added. Weaving is simple over and under, twining may be added if desired. No short rows or filling in is needed. A variety of colors and weaving materials will be available to make your basket unique.

Go Go Basket

Woven on a 6X10 D handle, this functional wall basket is designed to dispense pet waste bags. The basket portion can be used to store leashes, treats or favorite toys. Techniques include: how to set up a suspended base spoke, start / stop weaving, placing spoke overlays, how to incorporate "buttons" and a dog buckle to rows of weaving.

Irish Blessing

Irish Blessing starts by weaving a filled base. Techniques include start/stop weaving, twining and the use of overlays. The accent color is Moss Green. Pretty leather handles and a celtic shamrock finish off this cutie. Other embellishments will be available to choose from at class time.

Lazy Susan with Hardwood Base and Inserts

This handsome and versatile basket is woven on a 10” striped hardwood base made from maple, red oak and walnut milled from our land. It includes hardwood dividers for use as storage, and comes with a plastic divided relish tray for food service. A choice of dyed reed colors will be offered.

*To save time, stakes will be pre-inserted ready for weaving.

Nelson

Thinking of You Wall Basket

Tisket a Tasket a Nantucket Basket

Students will learn the basics of setting up & finishing a Nantucket basket. Students will insert the cane staves into the base and weave with cane in a basic over under. Basket will be woven over a plastic mold which is for class use only. Base, rim & handle are Cherry which will be pre-finished. Handle will be added with bone knobs to finish the basket.
