The Department of Curriculum & Instruction supports teaching and learning across Bellefonte Area School District. Our team works closely with teachers, administrators, and staff to ensure students have access to high-quality curriculum, effective instructional practices, meaningful assessments, and engaging learning opportunities.
We oversee curriculum development and review, professional learning, instructional resources, assessment programs, federal programs, new teacher induction, and a variety of initiatives designed to support student achievement from kindergarten through graduation.

Leads the district's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and oversees federal and grant-funded programs that support student learning and achievement. Collaborates with teachers and administrators to strengthen Tier 1 instruction, support curriculum implementation, coordinate academic interventions, and ensure students have access to the resources and support they need to be successful.

Provides administrative support for the Curriculum & Instruction Department and helps coordinate many of the behind-the-scenes processes that support student learning. Assists with curriculum resources, district assessments, student information systems, federal programs, new teacher induction, and state reporting requirements.

Instructional coaches are experienced educators who partner with teachers to support student learning and instructional excellence. Coaches work alongside teachers to plan lessons, analyze student data, model instructional strategies, co-teach, provide professional learning, and support the implementation of curriculum and district initiatives. Their role is non-evaluative and focused on collaboration, growth, and continuous improvement.
Supports teachers in grades K-5 with curriculum implementation, instructional practices, assessment, data analysis, and professional learning.

Supports science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) initiatives across the district while helping educators make meaningful use of student data. Collaborates with teachers to strengthen STEM instruction, integrate innovative learning experiences, and support district STEM programming. Also provides training and support related to the district's data systems and data warehouse, helping staff access information that supports instructional planning, student achievement, and continuous improvement.
