The Bellefonte Area School District Business department prepares students with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions in an increasingly complex financial and economic world. Through coursework in business, finance, entrepreneurship, economics, and career readiness, students develop practical skills that support success in college, careers, and everyday life.
Our curriculum is aligned to Pennsylvania Academic Standards and reflects current research, best practices, and real-world applications. Students have opportunities to explore topics such as budgeting, saving, investing, credit, consumer decision-making, entrepreneurship, workplace readiness, and financial responsibility.
During the 2025-2026 school year, Bellefonte Area School District completed a comprehensive review and revision of its Business curriculum in preparation for Pennsylvania's new Personal Finance Standards, which take effect on July 1, 2026. This work ensures that students receive instruction aligned with state requirements while developing the financial literacy skills necessary to become informed and responsible citizens.
Families and community members will find curriculum documents below that provide insight into the district's Business and Personal Finance program, including instructional frameworks, vertical standards alignment documents, and curriculum storyboards. Together, these resources illustrate what students are expected to learn, how skills develop over time, and how financial literacy and business concepts are integrated throughout the student experience.
Note: The K-5 Business standards are embedded within our elementary technology special.
