Specimen dimensions: 1½ x 1½ x 1½ inches (40x40x40mm)
Specimen weight: 5 ounces (144 grams)
Collection: Cypress Creek Campus
For reference: the U.S. penny is 0.75 inches [19.05 mm] in diameter.
Distinguishing Physical Properties:
Reddish tint, glassy or resinous (amber-like) luster, and a very unusual shape.
This specimen easily scratches a glass plate.
This specimen has very unusual surfaces, and it's difficult to determine whether they are crystal faces or cleavage. But the fact that there are so many surfaces and that they exhibit repeated geometric shapes suggest crystal faces.
If you are holding a decent size sample with well-developed crystal faces, you should be able to roll this sample on the table like a dice.
