Not unusual to be in crystal form, hexagonal prism and trigonal rhombohedra shapes are common, and parallel striations along crystal faces are often present. It's difficult to tell the difference between cleavage and crystal faces. Cleavage planes are a result of breakage, appearing as new, perfectly flat surfaces, sometimes with a step-like appearance. But, in this specimen, the crystal faces are on just one side of the specimen, suggesting the mineral's growth, and they display parallel growth striations on some faces, which is not uncommon.
