Distinguishing Physical Properties:
The yellow color is actually fairly diagnostic of this mineral.
Crystals are rare, but when presented usually have a resinous or greasy luster.
Most of the samples shared at ACC campuses are the same color, but display an earthy luster and is often melted and seems harder than natural specimens because its manufactured as a byproduct of the oil and gas refining industry.
If you scratch a specimen of this mineral, it will often smell like a lit match, or possibly like rotten eggs.
