Eagles VS Cowboys Update
Gear up for Sunday night football. The Eagles vs the not so Americas team the Cowboys on Sunday November 23. Their record is 7-2. But it shouldn't be because Nick had a couple mistakes but it's fine. In my opinion I think they are going to win because the cowboys aren't a good team without Mica Parson. They traded him to Green Bay. I think the Eagles are going to win 28-7.
On the Cowboys side, they are under 500 which means they have less wins than losses. They are 3-5-1. If they stay under 500 they won't make the playoffs. Personally, I think they won't. That's all I have to say about the Cowboys.

Eagles of Chiefs? Who will win? The game commences and we are off to a great start already. The Eagles were doing amazing - defense in particular. The Chiefs on the other hand were not doing so good. We limited them to only 23 yards and only 1 first down in the first 30 minutes of the game. By the second quarter the Eagles were dominating. Infact, during the second quarter cornerback Cooper DeJean intercepted the ball which gave him a pick six - a defensive touchdown. At this point the Eagles were in the lead 14-0. They then paused for Kendrick Lammar to perform his halftime show that featured SZA. When the game started back up again everyone had lost hope for the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes was struggling with the pressure of the defense and no one on offence could catch the ball. However, this was amazing news for all the Philadelphia fans. The Chiefs eventually scored at a point in this quarter which atleast put them on the board. Finally, in the fourth quarter Eagles ended the game 22-40. As this happened green confetti exploded leaving philly fans in awe. They not only became world champions but also stopped the Chiefs from three-peating.
Have you ever wanted to play a sport with your friends in the winter but didn’t want to get cold? Well, Audubon Basketball is the right sport for you. Tryouts are on September 24 and the coach is only taking 10 kids. If you make the team, practices are on Wednesday and Friday. In the season we will be playing 16 games and maybe some tournaments. The practices are 1 hour and 30 minutes long.
Audubon Basketball is a fun sport to play with your friends but it’s also very hard. During the season we do lots of running drills to get in shape with no breaks in between. Also, we do a diving drill where you have to dive on the ball which gives dreadful pain the next morning.
Audubon Basketball is a really fun and competitive sport to play in the winter when it’s too cold to play outside as well. You get to practice inside with the heat while it’s freezing cold outside. Every practice is in Mansion and all the games are in the highschool gym or there away games. The season will last until around January and after that it’s done. The fans base is also always incredible with all your friends and family watching you play and cheering you on. That is why you should try out for Audubon Basketball.

The Audubon soccer team’s record might not show it, but they have gotten much better since the start of the season. They opened the season with a narrow 2-1 win with one of their players getting a goal and an assist. The next game they lost 7-1. The team has not just improved as a team together but as individuals also. Some of their players have gotten injuries over the last few games but the team has adjusted without them. The coaches like to have fun because they let one of their injured players be the third string coach. They only have one game left but this season has been an improvement from last season. They also have some all-star worthy players. A few of the players have topped 6 goals while one player has assisted 5 times. The season might not have been what they would have wanted or imagined it, but they have definitely improved. They have 2 talented goalkeepers, an amazing defensive wall that is hard to get through, an aggressive midfield, and many speedy forwards.
BMX BIKE ASSEMBLY
On May 20th, 2024, a pair of bikers came to the school. They were riding BMX bikes. During the assembly many things happened, some tame, but most wild. To start off, they warmed up with tables and tail whips, both tricks that they performed in the air for all to see. Then they spoke about how safety was important and to not try their tricks at home because they had been practicing for years and had the right equipment. Then they did some tricks that the volunteers had created, but Juan wasn’t listening and did one wrong, so he had to redo it. After that, teachers had to volunteer. Mr. Bentley, Mr. Ben, Ms. Miller, Mrs.Angelone and Mrs. B all got jumped over 3 times, and danced! After some more tricks, the duo jumped over Mr. Schaivo while he was on the ramp. After that we recited their chant and they had to leave.

5th Grade Girls Basketball

This year the Audubon 5th grade girls basketball team has gone 11-5. They have played their hardest and have faced some tough losses but in the end they tried their best. When some time passed they eventually made it to the playoffs. On Saturday the 24, 2024 we had to face Delran. It was a close game and harsh too. In the beginning quarter it was 2-0 Delran. As it went on it got closer and closer. Unfortunately Delran came out on top. It was really close though and the final score was 9-15. Even though we lost we had an amazing year!
Audubon Boys Basketball

The Audubon boys basketball team does not have the best record in the league but has lots of talent to show for. There are 10 players on the team that have all played well. Last game Nick Siriani, the Eagles head coach, was at the game and players got autographs and pictures with him. The team has yet to have a win this year, but things are looking good for the team with all the players healthy and upcoming games. The team has had to run wind sprints for over a month. Each player must sprint 17 wind sprints in under a minute and a half. If they do not beat be the time you have to do them again. This has made the players fast. Today we are going up against runnemede. Lately, the team has been happy. We have received news that we made the playoffs!
6th Grade Girls Travel Basketball

The 6th grade girls basketball team has started their season off great, with only losing 2 games. All the girls on the basketball team have shown determination and hard work to earn these wins.
They owe a lot of it to their coaches, Coach J and Coach M, that have been training them hard in practice. As Coach M says “If you practice hard you play hard.” This somewhat inspiring saying has definitely paid off on the court. An example of playing hard is players diving to win the ball. Although there are many more examples, we thought we would just tell you one.
The teams that the girls are playing are tough. Some teams were dirty, some teams were amazing, and some teams wouldn’t even let you cross the half court line. But the girls did not let that affect their effort. For example, number 0 did not let Winslow affect her ball handling even if they would not get off her and kept slapping her wrist. Another example of hard work is how the number 5’s defense was amazing against Brooklawn, not letting any players past her.
While the season is still going, the girls are hoping to make it to the final round and call themselves champs!

Jalen Hurts

In 2020 the Philadelphia Eagles drafted Jalen Hurts to be our quarterback. He came from Alabama and Oklahoma college. Jalen Hurts is 25 years old and he will turn 26 on August 7, 2024. There are many interesting facts about him like how he broke Cam Newton's record for most rushing yards scored by a quarterback in a single season. In 2022 Jalen Hurts won number one seed in his division followed by a trip to the Superbowl. Even though he lost he led his team to many great victories. Although he went strong last season he did not play his best this year and lost the first championship game. Jalen Hurts has also led a special play called the "Brotherly Shove" to help his team get first downs and touchdowns. Jalen Hurts was the first NFL player to throw 300 yards. These are some of the many facts on quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Devonta Smith

Devonta Smith is an American football wide receiver who joined the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL. Born on November 14, 1998, in Amite, Louisiana, Smith became known during his college football career at the University of Alabama. He was an important factor developing the Alabama football team. When he was still in college his college football stats were; 54 career games with Alabama, 234 receptions, 3,961 receiving yards, and 46 receiving touchdowns. Devonta Smith was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the year 2021.
Devonta’s career with the Eagles is off to a great start and he has had a lot of success in his NFL career. He had many touchdowns, receiving yards, and receptions. Devonta Smith's career NFL stats are; 240 receptions, 3,178 receiving yards, and 19 touch downs. That is a great start to his NFL career and has only been playing in the NFL for three years.
As I said Devonta Smith has had a great career and will accomplish many goals in football. I hope he stays in Philadelphia and he will get better and better every year. He is young and will have a great career on and off the field.
Mick Schumacher is Joining WEC This Year

Who is Mick Schumacher?
You may have heard or seen that the British motorsport series like WEC, and F1 are about to start this year. But the son of Michael Schumacher: Mick Shucmacher, is joining the 2024 WEC series! Before we get started, he had an amazing career! On March 22, 1999, Switzerland, Mick Schumacher was born. When he was 8, he was encouraged by his Father to start his karting career. In 2015, his F4 career started. When he was 18, he joined his first F3 championship. 1 year later, he won the F3 championship leading him to F2. After a difficult and skillful performance at the 2020 F2 championship, he won at the Bahrain Grand prix. After 2 years of waiting for a F1 seat, he was able to get a seat in 2021.
Mick Schumacher’s Career In F1
In 2021, Mick Schumacher joined F1 with HAAS after Romain Grosjean retired from his horrific crash at the Sakhir Grand Prix in 2020. At his first entry: the Bahrain Grand Prix, he was a little rusty by being 16th place. But it all went downhill later in the 2021-2022 season. Mick was always crashing! Mick was always having a position of 18th-19th and DNFs’. His mistakes were starting to become common! After 6 DNFs' and many bad performances’, he was kicked out of F1!
Mick Schumacher’s new career in WEC!
Even though Mick Schumacher got kicked out of F1, he wasn’t going to let his hopes and dreams in motorsports slide away. In 2024, he decided to join WEC like his father too who drove in WEC in 1991. Afterwards, Mick signed up for Alpine. At his test drive with Alpine, Mick Schumacher succeeded. When Mick Schumacher passed his test drive with Alpine, Mick Schumacher was fully signed with Alpine! On March 2nd, Mick Schumacher will begin driving at his first race at WEC. Will he be successful like his father or will he get kicked out again?
76ers Win Streak

The 76ers have had a great start to the season with a 15 win 7 loss record, 22 games into the season. Although one of their best players, (But one of their most unliked players) have left the team; James Harden, the 76ers have been bringing their A game to the court. With Joel Embied at the center position and Tyrese Maxey at point guard, the 76ers look unstoppable. With recent failures from the Eagles 2 game losing streak and the Union soccer loss in the playoffs, Philly fans are waiting for the 76ers to get
them back on their feet.
Joe Flacco

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to coach an NFL starting QB? The one and only Audubon native, Joe Flacco, played for the Audubon high school football team, playing quarterback for the team coached by our gym coach, Mr. Schiviao. He then ended up playing football for Delaware and later played in the NFL, playing for a lot of teams including the Eagles, Ravens, and currently the Browns where he is doing pretty well. Of course, I had to ask a couple of questions for Mr. Schiviao of what it was like coaching Joe Flacco.
The first question I asked him was, what was it like coaching Joe Flacco? He then responded saying, “It was pretty cool.” No kidding I thought after he said his answer. After all, it’s only a one and a lifetime opportunity to coach an NFL quarterback!
The second question I asked Mr. Shiviao was, did he get a lot of paparazzi? Mr. Shiviao then says, “ Joe Flacco didn’t get much attention.’’ When he said that, I was really surprised because if you're such a good quarterback that you eventually make the NFL, people would usually ask a lot of questions and give a tone of attention. Even though he didn’t get a lot of attention, it’s better than people being in your face all day in my opinion.
The third and final question I asked him was, did Joe Flacco’s teammates get jealous of him?
“Joe Flacco made his teammates play better,” said Mr. Shiviao.
That really shows how good of a teammate Joe Flacco was to not be a selfish player, which would be easy knowing how good he was. He instead showed compassion and made his teammates better instead of doing everything himself. That’s what separates good and great players and Joe Flacco was a great football player. Those are all of the questions I asked Mr. Shiviao of what it was like coaching Joe Flacco. Now that you know what it was like coaching him, do you want to play for the Audubon football team and play in the NFL?
The longest race in motorsport history, Le Mans

What motorsport is the famous Le Mans Track In
Le Mans is a very popular track that is part of the motorsport, Endurance Racing that is also known as WEC. There are also other races at different tracks that are different time lengths, some are 16 hours and some are 6 hours but Le Mans is known as the longest that is 24 hours! Endurance racing is just normal racing but the team's cars have different shapes and upgrades. Endurance can be more dangerous than other motorsports because they are mostly made up of carbon fiber that makes it weigh less that can increase the chance of flying up into the air.
Le Mans facts
Porsche is the only carmaker to have been represented at Le Mans for the past 63 years and Le Mans has many world records like the longest race in history and the worst crashes. Did you know that the fastest race finish was 349.808 kilometers per hour (217.36014 MPH)? And even Simulator racers got a chance to race in WEC, how cool is that! The fastest a WEC car has gone is 405 kilometers per hour (251.655 MPH) in 1988 by Roger Dorchy who still holds the world record today.
Unusual parts about WEC and Le Mans
In Le Mans, the rules are a little different. When the race starts the drivers have to run as fast as they can to their cars and every time you do a pit stop, you have to switch the driver with another driver. Also there are some cars that are very VERY different. For example, some have the driver's head sticking out of the car and some have arrow shapes as their hood, also some teams use normal sports cars like Porsche 911s’, BMWs’, Bugattis’, and Corvettes’. Have you ever seen American cars in British motorsports? Well WEC does, America’s team is normal but they sometimes even use Nascars in Le Mans!
Go Eagles

The Eagles are 8-1 and a big game is coming up next monday. It is against the reigning Super bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs. Kansas City has a 7-2 record and just came off a win to the Dolphins 21-14 in Germany. The Eagles also came off a big win last week against the Cowboys,They won 28-23. Now they have to beat the raining Super bowl champs the Chiefs. This game is Monday night and most people are going to stay up and watch this whole game. The Eagles are the best team in the NFC and the whole league. The Chiefs are the best in the AFC and 3rd in the league. The whole town is ready for this action packed game. I know I’m ready and my brother (Brody) is ready for this game on Monday. Will it be the Eagles or the Chiefs who win it? The 8-1 Eagles or the 7-2 Chiefs. I guess we will have to see Monday.

76ers

How about the sixers? The Philadelphia 76ers are actually looking like they can finally make it past the second round of the playoffs this year.
As you may already know, James Harden is out of Philly and is currently on the Los Angeles Clippers. Harden going to the Clippers is better for the team because they are winning more games right now.
As Harden was previously the point guard, now Tyrese Maxey, the point guard for the Sixers, is getting more chances to score and put points on the board. This benefits him because it makes him one of the main players on the team beside Joel Embiid. It’s obviously a good thing because the Sixers are the second best team in the NBA right now. Plus, Maxey is on his way to becoming an allstar which he deeply deserves to get.
Joel Embiid is also doing just as good as last season. He’s passing the ball more, being more aggressive on defense, and even getting to the other side of the court first.
All of this is thanks to Nick Nurse, the new head coach of the Sixers. Nick Nurse’s coaching is better because of his different playing style unlike Doc Rivers, the old head coach of the Sixers.
All the Sixers need to do is to keep up playing like they already are and hopefully make it to the playoffs and win the championship. Do you think the Sixers can keep up like they're playing? I guess we’ll know as the weeks and months go by. Go Sixers!
Philadelphia Union

When soccer season comes around, we know what team to cheer for…The Philadelphia Union! The Philadelphia Union is an American professional soccer club based in Chester, just south of Philadelphia. Fans of the 5 Philadelphia sports teams just know them as one of Philadelphia's, well, sports teams, but there is way more to them. Here let me tell you.
The Philadelphia Union just really became a team, they have been around for fifteen years. The idea of having a Philadelphia soccer team came in 2008. Before they could play their first game they had to set up the organization. They had to hire a coach, front offices, and signed players. Finally, on March 25, 2010 they played their first game in Major League Soccer. There have been other pro soccer teams in Philadelphia, but the union are just different.
The Union have quickly established themselves as one of the best organizations in the MLS. They finished as runners-up in the 2014, 2015, and 2018 U.S. Open Cup tournaments and the 2022 MLS Cup final. Currently, the Union sit in 4th place. Over the summer the Union hosted Messi and his Inter Miami team. They didn’t have their best game and lost convincingly. It’s ok though, The Union is still a very talented team with 15 wins, 9 loses, and 10 ties. The 4 best/most talented players on the philadelphia union are Andre Blake (Goalkeeper), Kai Wagner (Defender), Daniel Gazdag (Midfielder), and Julian Carranza (Forward). These players play an important role on this team. They keep this team winning.
It’s only in a matter of time before the Philadelphia Union will be having a parade down Broad Street for coming in 1st place.
76ers Playoff Run

The 76ers are off to a great start in the NBA playoffs. Their first playoff game they won by 20 points! 121 to 101. Joel Embiid had 26 points and James Harden had 7 three pointers. They swept the Nets in the first round, which set a record for the first 76ers first round sweep since 1985. Then they had a tough game against the Celtics without Joel Embiid and won, 119 to 115. But Lost 2 straight against the Celtics, don’t lose hope though, because then the 76ers got 2 straight wins.
Sneak Peak of Field Day

Is anybody else excited for field day this year? Well I definitely am. In 5th grade, all the classes are pumped for the big game we've been waiting for since the beginning of the school year. The big game against Mr. Rehn and Mrs. McFetridge class vs Mrs. Englehart and Mrs. Buzby's class. Do you know what I’m talking about? We are playing a big football game. It all started in September when my classmates who play football decided to play a big football game between the two classes. The starting quarterback got that idea to face off at the perfect place and time at the end of the school year. Both teams are practicing plays, catching, and playing games at lunch recesses time. I’m playing in the football game with him as quarterback, me as running back, wide receivers, a snapper and a tight end all in Mrs. Engleharts homeroom.
I don’t know about you but I definitely want my class, Mrs. Engleharts homeroom to win. In my opinion, I think it’s either going to be a really close game or a blow out and Mrs. McFetridge's class and Mr. Rehn’s will take a big lead. Mrs. McFetridge's class has a player to watch out for in this game so my class is placing someone to cover him. But can my team do it? Can my class stop him and some really good other players or will they stop us? Those are all great questions to think about these next coming months and on field day. What do you think ? Do you think Mrs. McFetridge and Mr Rehns class is going to win or do you think Mrs. Buzby and Mrs Englehart’s class is going to win?

If you're a football fan then you would know the excitement when your team becomes a step closer to the super bowl. This is how the Philadelphia Eagles fans felt when they won against the Giants on January 21. The Eagles won 38-7 with an amazing touchdown in the last second. They got an outstanding lead. Everyone could bet that they were going to win, and everyone was correct. The most recent game that they played was against the San Francisco 49ers. The Eagles walked home satisfied with their amazing win, 31-7. Now they are in the super bowl. We can only assume that they will win because the 49ers have the best defense in all of the NFL, and the Eagles beat them by 24 points. So imagine the score of the super bowl. Hopefully we win the big game.

World Cup

Gonzalo Montiel lines up for the last PK (Penalty Kick), he shoots … HE SCORES!! An announcer quotes, “Argentina has won the World Cup!! Everyone has been saying that it was the best final ever, and it was. Early on in the 23rd minute of the game, Messi was able to take a penalty kick. HE SCORED! In the 36th minute of the game, Di Maria got a low shot on net and scored to make it 2-0 Argentina. Then, Mbappe scored on a penalty to make it 2-1 Argentina still leads by 1. Then in the 97th second of the game’s added time, Mbappe tied the game with a goal to make it 2-2. During the extra time, Messi scored for the second time to make Argentina lead by 1 making it 3-2. However, with a few minutes left in the game, Mbappe scored on a penalty kick to tie the match 3-3. Due to this goal, Mbappe was second man to ever score a hatrick in a World Cup Final making the game a historical and fantastically supring match, but this was bad for Argentina because this meant that the game would have to go into a penalty shootout. After the penalty shootout which was won 4-2 by Argentina, it was officially announced around the world, “ARGENTINA WINS THE WORLD CUP!” This was a historical moment, and was loved by most people.
