A Gluten Free Holiday
By Dragonlover
If you don't know what gluten free means, it means that people that are gluten free can not eat any wheat or flour. They have to get certain food or else they will get sick.
Even though I am gluten free, I still have an amazing holiday with my family. We bake gluten free cookies every year, and I think they taste amazing. The name of the cookie batter that we're making this year is Pillsbury Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Premium Cookie Mix. And all candy canes are gluten free, no matter the flavor.
Whenever buying gingerbread houses, my family makes sure to buy gluten free ones. Even though we don't eat them afterwards, I just feel a lot more comfortable assembling them knowing I don't have to wash my hands one hundred times afterwards.
BOO! Did I scare you? HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! Everybody the one day where you can eat as much candy as possible and your blood stream will be filled with soda and smarties. Gest what Halloween is on a Friday so you don't have to come to school like all tired and sick. Anyways the Halloween parade was a massive hit. Everyone loved it. The costumes were insane this year. Favorite Holiday Traditions
By the Phillie Phanatic
Everyone has a favorite holiday. Many people choose Christmas as their favorite because they get to receive presents, eat lots of food and cookies, watch movies, and listen to music. I interviewed a few kids and asked them their favorite traditions. One kid from 6th grade said that he always has a brunch with his family on Christmas day and opens presents. Someone from 5th grade said that they love Christmas Eve because they get to watch movies, have food, and they get very excited for the next morning. Every kid I interviewed said that they always love to wake up and open presents. Every kid says that they always like to eat tons of great foods. All the kids are very excited and there are only 9 days until Christmas!
The Kari J Walk
By: Cupcake and Miss Preppy
On Sunday, May 19, 2024 Audubon hosted a walk for Kari J (Kari Jenkinson). The walk was around Audubon Lake.
During this walk, the Helping Paws club at Mansion sold bracelets to help raise money for the Kari J scholarship. The Helping Paws raised about $260 while selling the bracelets.
Another thing that happened during the Kari J walk, was that they were selling shirts to help raise awareness, and money, for the scholarship.
Finally there was a raffle to win a purple yeti and that was another way that they raised money for the Kari J scholarship. Then to show respect there was a speech that everyone listened to. But the main big part was the walk and so many people came to show their respect but not only people that live in Audubon but also around 100 teachers came to walk around the lake to show their respect for Kari
J. This walk has been held every year since this heartbreaking loss of Kari Audubon has hosted a walk to raise money for Kari J scholarship that Audubon High School gives out every year.
As our whole town of Audubon we all show our respect on this day by walking around the lake and wearing purple. This day is to show our respect to a family that lives in Audubon and has lost a family member Kari J to a horrible sickness.
