Audubon Public Schools defines gifted students as those students who demonstrate a high achievement capability in areas such as intellectual or leadership capacity and whose educational experience would be enhanced by experiences not ordinarily provided during the school day.
Multiple measures are used in the process to identify giftedness students. These measures include standardized test scores, classroom performance, and teacher and parent recommendations. Instruction is provided by the teacher of the gifted program for 30 minutes four times per week during the Enrichment cycle, as well as ongoing differentiation of instruction by the regular classroom teacher.
