Students in grades 3 - 6 may be detained by their teacher for a maximum of (10) minutes at the end of the school day, without parent notification. Parents must be notified by the teacher after this ten minute period of any further delay. Appropriate reasons for detaining a student after school for a short time include, but not limited to, extra help, finishing classwork, or disciplinary reasons.
