Frequently Asked Questions
Does this work on any computer that a student uses?
No. To enable Securly Classroom, a student must be signed into Chrome with their ASD Google account. It will work by default on student Chromebooks, but is not guaranteed to work on personal devices.
Does this work outside of school hours?
No. Securly Classroom will only work when devices are on school premises. For Auburn Online students, it will only operate during school hours.
Do students know that teachers can see their screens?
Yes. Every time a teacher begins a Securly Classroom session, students will receive an on-screen pop-up to inform them that their activity is visible.
Why can't I see my student in the Securly Classroom dashboard?
If a student is using a personal device and is not signed into Chrome, they will not be visible. If a student is using their district Chromebook, they may need to restart their device to ensure that it has received the latest update for Securly Classroom.
Why does Securly Classroom log me out continually?
This is a known issue for a small number of users. If using a PC, try accessing Securly Classroom on a different browser (e.g., Microsoft Edge). Clearing your cache and cookies may also help to improve performance.
Why do I see every URL from the entire district when managing links?
Securly keeps a list of all URLs from the district, so common links can be re-used easily. If you do not wish to see these, click "My web links only" to view only your own URLs.
