The King County Library System (KCLS) and ASD partner to provide free, easy access to resources for all students and teachers. KCLS has created special library accounts in its system for all students in our district so they may seamlessly log in from any computer or device using their student IDs. The special student accounts:
Are easy for students to remember. The account number is comprised of our district code and a zero (4080) followed by each student’s school ID number. For example, 4080123456.
Give each student seamless access. Students are able to use the array of databases, downloadable materials including eBooks (through Overdrive), and online homework help services offered by KCLS without needing a physical card.
Do not accrue fines or fees. Since students access electronic materials, it isn't necessary for students to track due dates.
Any student with a traditional KCLS library card may continue to use it to checkout materials from the public library and use in-library computers. This arrangement between the ASD and KCLS supplements the traditional library card and improves each student’s ability to access KCLS online research tools as part of their school work. Our ASD school librarians can help accessing KCLS resources from school.
Visit kcls.org/students for more information.
