The course selection process below is similar for all grade levels. However, there are specific aspects of the process only for Grade 10 students, as their choices are targeted to the learning pathways and post-ASM plans that are important to consider as they head into the last two years of Upper School.
This cohort of students is choosing from ASM courses and IB courses. IB courses are two-year courses externally examined by the IB. When Grade 10 students choose courses for next year, the courses become part of their post-ASM plans and, as such, require a greater degree of planning than what would be the case for students moving from Grade 9 to Grade 10.
Our Grade 9 and 10 years are preparatory programs for Grades 11 and 12 and provide some exploratory courses that students can choose based on interest. Grade 9 students are encouraged to reach out to their counselor should they require advice and assistance beyond what this platform provides. Grade 11 students who are choosing new courses for Grade 12 should also contact their counselors for advice.
