The ASM Guidance Counselor gives Academic Guidance and Social-Emotional Guidance and Counseling to the entire Upper School. She works closely with Grade Level Leaders as they spearhead the Advisory Program and also publishes a virtual Counseling & Advisory Newsletter with updates on the Counseling and Advisory program. In addition, she works closely with the Upper School Dean of Students, Learning Support Coordinators and College Counselors.
Part of her role in Academic Guidance is to ensure that students understand their MAP schedules and are ready for MAP testing when the period arises. To this end, she works closely with the K-12 Curriculum Coordinator and Head Proctor of the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Growth assessments.
