Bikeability
At Kemnay PS, we promote cycling and active travel throughout the year with various events and clubs. We understand the importance of cycling for our learners and the impact that it can have on them, their families and our local community. As a result of our implementation of cycling within the school, we see massive benefits to our children and to our school community.

Bikeability
Bikeability is integrated into the PE curriculum for students in P5 to P7 at Kemnay PS.
In P5, students undergo level 1 Bikeability training, which takes place in the playground. The focus is on building confidence in fundamental cycling skills such as turning, starting safely, signalling, and checking over their shoulder.
Moving on to P6, students progress to level 2 Bikeability training, where they further develop the skills acquired in level 1. This level emphasises cycling safely on roads, preparing students for real-world cycling scenarios.
In P7, we revisit and reinforce this learning to ensure students maintain their road safety awareness. This preparation is essential for the inaugural cycle trip to Bennachie in 2025 around the Colony Trail (see brochure below). We are hopeful that this will become an annual tradition at Kemnay PS.
Cycling Challenge
In March 2025 we plan on having a Charity Indoor Cycle event to raise much needed funds for a good cause and increase the enthusiasm and love of cycling whilst reaping some health related benefits of the activity.
