Learners in S1 and S2 are given opportunities to explore basic audio capture, editing, mixing and mastering skills using GarageBand.
As part of the World Music unit in Term 3, learners explore and layer loops to create a piece of electronic music.
Learners are introduced to Foley techniques and apply these within the context of planning, creating and producing a short soundtrack for a travel company's television advert.
Working together, they use objects and movement imaginatively to create sounds, carrying out basic editing and mixing on them using GarageBand.
In Term 2, learners work on the sound design for a scene from an animation. They use musical instruments, voice, props and body movement to create original music to fit with the visual stimulus. Those who choose to focus on music technology use controls and processes such as volume, panning and effects to enhance their soundtrack.
