Communication

General Information

General school information can be found on our website at www.artsacademyecs.org

Notices are sent home in the student’s class folder periodically through the year.

Software and Applications

  • Jupiter: Jupiter, our Student Information System and parent portal is also used for communication. Timely messages, information about upcoming events or general reminders may be sent by the principal via e-mail, phone or text through Jupiter, our student information system, or through the Class Dojo app.

  • Class Dojo: The Class Dojo app can be found by visiting www.classdojo.com and search “Arts Academy Elementary Charter School”. Contact your child’s teacher for their class code.

  • SchoolDoc: Upload your child's required student health and medical information.

  • School Messenger: School Messenger is used for important and emergency messages via phone call, email or text. These messages can be translated to the parent's preferred language choice. Contact information must be correct in Jupiter, to be correct in School Messenger.

  • School Dismissal Manager: This app serves as a communication tool regarding student transportation and attendance. Parents can check-in upon arrival, sending an immediate message so their child/children will be brought out to the vehicle. Check-ins and dismissals can also be automatically communicated between family members.

Principal Newsletters

Principal newsletters are sent out monthly through Remind, Class Dojo and are posted on the school’s website. To access all prior newsletters, visit Mrs. McCollum’s Smore account at: https://www.smore.com/u/mrsmccollum

Classroom Newsletters

Each classroom teacher generates a monthly or weekly newsletter. The newsletter may be printed, posted on the teacher’s website or sent home electronically through Jupiter or Class Dojo.

Social Media

Arts Academy Elementary School posts reminders, events and promotes student achievement or experiences using three social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Facebook is the platform used most often. Because of the ease of use, Facebook is used for posting real-time messages regarding each district’s dismissal time during an emergency closing. Find us on these platforms at the addresses below:

Classroom Concerns

The best person to talk to about your child’s academic progress, classroom behavior or daily concerns is the classroom teacher. You can contact the teacher by sending a note, email, messaging through Class Dojo or Remind or making a telephone call. Although most situations can be dealt with effectively by the parent, teacher and child, sometimes other people need to be included such as a member of the Student Services Team or Administration.
