Our Story

Our doors first opened in August of 2015 as a public, K-5 charter school with a focus on arts education. We believe exposure to the arts from a very young age is essential in developing children's natural sense of curiosity and creativity. In addition to the core subjects of Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies, all students in K-5 participate in daily classes for visual art, music, dance, theatre and Creative Movement. Integrating the arts into our academic program only further enhances their ability to grasp new concepts, apply new skills and to make connections across content areas. Located in beautiful downtown Allentown, our students are within walking distance for field trips to Miller Symphony Hall, Liberty Museum and the Allentown Art Museum. Chartered through Allentown School District, our students attend from many others including Bethlehem, Brandywine, Easton, Catasauqua, East Penn, Northampton, Parkland, Saucon Valley, Southern Lehigh, Salisbury, and Whitehall-Coplay. Enrollment with Arts Academy Elementary Charter School is by lottery. There is no screening nor audition process.

Middle States Accredited!

In 2018, we initiated the Middle States Accreditation application process. After years of hard work and collaboration among all staff, faculty, administration, board members, families, students and community members, we hosted the MSA Visitation Team in March 2021. We are proud to announce that we received a 7-year, full accreditation in October 2021! Visit our website to learn more!
