A little about Phoenix:
Phoenix is a great city with easy access from many cities and an airport right in the middle of downtown.
Phoenix has something for everyone – great weather (for most of the year!) is perfect for hiking and outdoor activities in our beautiful desert. A short drive takes you to snow, changing colors of leaves, and incredible national treasures. The culture, resources, and diversity of our large city offers an array of activities from mainstream professional sports and concerts to eclectic clubs and groups.
Virtual Applicant Events:
We are looking forward to helping you get a good sense of our program, residents, faculty, and Phoenix through one of our virtual applicant visit events.
Please sign up for one of our virtual applicant visit events directly in Thalamus. Attending will help you get to know our program and community better by talking with our residents. Our goal is to make the event relevant and meaningful, so we encourage you to join us virtually!
Monday 11/10/25
Thursday 11/20/25
Wednesday 12/10/25
Wednesday 1/7/26
You are welcome at any one of the virtual applicant visit events. You may find it most helpful to attend the virtual visit event that is closest to your interview half day, but please choose whichever works best with your schedule. You are not required to have completed your interviews prior to the virtual visit -- you can attend either before or after your interview day.
The virtual visit event will run around 1.5 hours (6:00-7:30pm MST) and will be held over Zoom with small group breakout rooms. This event is intended to provide a less formal, highly engaging experience to augment the information you already have. It will include meeting the program director and other program leaders and staff, lots of social time to visit with residents, and more to help you better understand our program.
We are looking forward to meeting you!
Optional In-Person Campus Visit:
Separate from our virtual visit events, you also are invited to an in-person Campus Visit with our Internal Medicine Residency program leadership, faculty, and residents. We are participating in the NBME's voluntary program rank order list pilot, which means we will lock and certify our program's rank list before this in-person event, so that applicants can make decisions about attending based on what is best for them without concerns about how it may impact our program rankings. This event will be held on February 20th, 2026 -- before applicant rank lists must be finalized -- so that you can have the opportunity to come meet us in person and spend time in Phoenix before making final ranking decisions.
Again, our program rank list will already be locked & certified, and so you can freely decide if traveling for an in-person event will be helpful to you as you consider multiple programs. We know finances are tight for many, and we want you to be able to make whatever decision is best for you.
