A little about Phoenix:
Phoenix is a great city with easy access from many cities and an airport right in the middle of downtown.
Phoenix has something for everyone – great weather (for most of the year!) is perfect for hiking and outdoor activities in our beautiful desert. A short drive takes you to snow, changing colors of leaves, and incredible national treasures. The culture, resources, and diversity of our large city offers an array of activities from mainstream professional sports and concerts to eclectic clubs and groups.
We are looking forward to helping you get a good sense of our program, residents, faculty, and Phoenix through one of our virtual applicant visit events.
You can sign up for one of our virtual applicant visit events directly in Thalamus. Attending will help you get to know our program and community better by talking with our residents.
Our goal is to make the event relevant and meaningful. As such, we invite you to participate in one of the dates that aligns with your future career plans in Internal Medicine (see details in link above). If you're still undecided on your future career path, that's ok (many are!). You may choose to participate in whichever session works best with your schedule; you will learn a lot about the program at any of them.
Thursday 11/7/24
Wednesday 11/20/24
Monday 12/2/24
Wednesday 12/18/24
Thursday 1/9/25
You are welcome at any one of the virtual applicant visit events. You may find it most helpful to attend the virtual visit event that is closest to your interview half day, but please choose whichever works best with your schedule. You are not required to have completed your interviews prior to the virtual visit -- you can attend either before or after your interview day.
The virtual visit event will run around 1.5 hours (6:00-7:30pm MST) and will be held over Zoom with small group breakout rooms. This event is intended to provide a less formal, highly engaging experience to augment the information you already have. It will include meeting the program director and other program leaders and staff, lots of social time to visit with residents, and more to help you better understand our program.
We are looking forward to meeting you!
Separate from our virtual visit events, but still as part of the recruitment experience, you are also invited to participate in our Institutional virtual Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Open House, which will take place in November. This GME-wide event will showcase the goals we have set and the progress we have made in these important areas of development. Attending the DEI event is purely optional for those who are interested, and it will not impact your standing in our program. If interested, you can register and obtain additional information here.
