This includes Clinical Research Support Services to provide research support for those conducting clinical and translational research, as well as the Research Office for Medical Education for those interested in medical education (MedEd) research and scholarship.
Trainees in our GME programs (residencies and fellowships) also have the dedicated support of Melisa Celaya, PhD -- the Director of Research Education for Graduate Medical Education at UArizona College of Medicine - Phoenix.
Dr. Pooja Rangan is the Director of Data & Research Outcomes for Graduate Medical Education at UArizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. She is another individual who provides dedicated research support for trainees in our residency and fellowship programs.
Dr. Gerkin previously held this role until he retired last year.

In addition to promoting presentation of resident research at regional and national conferences, the University of Arizona College of Medicine- Phoenix hosts an annual Academic Excellence Day, an opportunity for residents and fellows from multiple Graduate Medical Education programs across the Phoenix area.
Academic Excellence Day is an opportunity to focus attention on the magnitude and variety of clinical and bench research done by residents, fellows, graduate students, clinical allied health staff and physician staff.
