The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix began sponsoring the Banner Residency and Fellowship Programs in 2015. In addition, with over 300 residents and fellows in our GME programs, Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix (formerly Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center) has been training residents and students for more than 50 years.

Fallon, Chair of the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix Department of Medicine since 2016, describes his vision for expanding research and clinical expertise within our programs. As an internationally recognized researcher and teacher in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, his experience in academics augments our commitment to education.

Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix (BUMCP) is a quaternary referral & transplant center, as well as a Level I trauma center. BUMCP has the highest scores in the state with respect to patient diversity, complexity, and acuity.
The Phoenix VA Healthcare System (Phoenix VA Medical Center) is a large urban medical center serving the needs of more than 120,000 Veterans in central Arizona. It also has a large catchment area, serving as a major referral center for other regional VA hospitals and clinics.
