Which One Dosen't Belong?

Which One Doesn't Belong? provides thought-provoking puzzles for math teachers and students alike and was created by Mary Bourassa. These puzzles can lead to insightful classroom discussions in which scholars must support their reasoning. Students are presented with four numbers, shapes, visual images, data sets or graphs and asked to share their reasoning as to Which One Doesn't Belong and why.

There are no answers provided as there are many different, correct ways of choosing which one doesn't belong. Give students a few minutes to pick which corner of the image doesn't belong and then share out as a whole class the different reasons they have come up with.
