24 Game

Provide scholars with an opportunity to develop number sense by " playing" with numbers. This includes scholars being able to decompose and compose the number 24.

Here's how to play:

Make the number 24 from the four numbers shown on the playing card. You can add, subtract, multiply and divide. Use all four numbers on the card, but use each number only once. You do not have to use all four operations. All number nines have a red center, so you can tell a nine from a six.

The 24® Game’s simple structure allows learners to engage quickly, and almost immediately seek out higher levels of challenge. It gives children the freedom to make mistakes without being judged. The more they play, the more they engage in deep practice which leads to fluency in, and permanent retention of, critical math skills.

It may be a cool idea to start a 24 Math Game Club in your building.
