The percentage of elementary teachers certified in LETRS, research-based instruction focusing on what literacy skills need to be taught, why they are important, and how to plan to teach them, will increase from 36% in August 2024 to 60% in August 2027.
The spreadsheet below shows our district's current progress towards reaching Guardrail 3.2 goal. This data shows the overall completion data, completion data by school, completion data by month, and completion data by LETRS Phase.
**Please note that as of March 2026, only teachers enrolled in LETRS Phases 1-10 should be complete with LETRS at this time. Teachers enrolled in Phases 11-14 are still in progress towards completing their LETRS requirements.
Schools have the ability to progress monitor their LETRS completion directly by opening the spreadsheet linked below and selecting their school site in the spreadsheet. Only administrators and those with administrator permission will be able to view their individual school spreadsheet.
If you need to request access to your school spreadsheet, please email letrs@aps.edu.
The video below (coming soon) will show administrators how to access, view, and interpret their school spreadsheets for LETRS progress monitoring. Data for each school is updated on a regular basis so it is recommended that administrators check their school spreadsheet at least once every 1-2 months.
When a participant meets with a member of the APS LETRS team, the APS LETRS team utilizes a note-taking document that also partners as a progress plan for the participant. Guidance and support is provided during these appointments and then sent to the participant in a document format.
