ACCESS Optional Leadership Certificate Description
ACCESS is continuing to offer our official leadership certificate! The goal of this certificate program is to give ACCESS students an opportunity to build leadership skills over their time in college. The certificate is a great thing to include on a resume and the skills you will develop will help prepare for many career paths. You can earn the certificate multiple times and show growth in your leadership skills as you progress through the levels! And if you completed the certificate last year, we encourage you to work towards one of the next levels!
By completing the different levels of the leadership certificate, you are building these skills while also connecting with other ACCESS students and giving back to the program. The leadership certificate has four levels: Engaged Member, then Bronze, then Silver, and finally Gold. You work your way through all levels while in college. The details for each level are as follows:
The Engaged Member Level was created to acknowledge those students who want to be actively involved in the program beyond just the requirements.
The Bronze, Silver, and Gold Member levels were created to help you develop your leadership skills a little further each level you climb up.
If you are interested, please complete the Interest Google Form that is linked below so we know who to invite to for leadership opportunities throughout the year. You have to fill this form out within the first month of school to participate.
We are excited to have you be part of this program! This checklist was created to help you keep track of your requirements and accomplishments throughout the semester, as you will be required to fill out a form at the end of each semester stating everything you did towards the certificate!
To start, make a copy of the ACCESS Leadership Description and Checklist document (click here) for your own use of the checklist! Please use the outline (button on left) to direct yourself to the leadership level that you want to earn. This is separated out by first year options and upperclassmen (2nd year and beyond) options. You can then delete the levels you are not working towards to simplify the document!
As the semester progresses, use the checklist of the leadership level you’re striving for in order to keep track of your requirements.
As a leader, we expect you to take initiative! It is YOUR responsibility to make sure you're staying on top of your activities and are attending these events.
Please note: It will be helpful for you to write down a summary of each event you attended/what you led after the event so you have something to look back on when you’re filling out the Google Form at the end of the semester.
Once you complete all the requirements for your level, you will submit the Reflection Google Form at the end of each semester (see below)!
