All Appalachian State students must have health insurance coverage & must Waive or Enroll in Health Insurance each semester.
ACCESS will pay for you to have the value plan. If you sign up for the premium plan, you are responsible for the difference.
Enroll means that you want App State coverage and Waive means that you have coverage already.
HOW TO WAIVE:
If you already have health insurance (Medicaid or other insurance), you should keep this health insurance (it most likely is better coverage) and waive out of the universities insurance.
To do this, click this link and then click waive coverage and follow the steps on the website.
When you do this, you will provide proof of insurance during the waiver process.
Please note: If/when your current coverage ends in the future, you can enroll in the university's health insurance and ACCESS will cover it.
HOW TO ENROLL:
If you do not have health insurance, will want to enroll in the university's health insurance and ACCESS will cover this cost for you.
To do this, click this link and then click enroll now and follow the steps on the website.
Please note: If you enroll, you will have a balance on your student account until mid-September when Sheila can go in and pay for your health insurance.
