The Graduate Record Examination, or GRE, is a broadly required and accepted Graduate entrance exam. The exam is comprised of 6 sections- 2 or 3 verbal reasoning sections, 2 or 3 quantitative reasoning sections, and 1 analytical writing section. Essentially, the GRE is a re-run of the SAT or ACT.
