Honor Guard is composed of our competition drill teams and holds practices every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:20 pm to 6:00 pm. These dedicated "JROTC varsity teams" compete in three to five competitions around Texas each year. One of TX-200010's proudest achievements is that we received an outstanding 47 trophies in the 2023-2024 school year. Our teams consist of First Year Regulation, Unarmed Regulation, Unarmed Exhibition, Armed Regulation, Armed Exhibition, Sabre Regulation, Color Guard, and Physical Training.
We encourage every cadet in the corps to give Honor Guard a try at least once. This aspect of JROTC offers underclassmen a unique opportunity to connect with upperclassmen, create meaningful relationships, and become an essential part of the program. Honor Guard is more than a commitment, it’s a chance to build discipline, sharpen attention to detail, and develop a strong sense of purpose within the corps.
In just a short time frame, the cadets prepared to take on the challenge at the early Keller Competition. It was a test of whether we were ready or not. Without the distinguished Class of 2024 seniors, much more work was required. The cadets overcame the challenge to the best of their ability through teamwork, dedication, and discipline, placing third overall and setting a strong foundation to build upon throughout the year.
1ST: First Year Reg, Sabre Reg
2ND: Unarmed Reg,
3RD: Inspection, Armed Reg, Male PT
We gained recognition among other champions, finishing first overall in four consecutive competitions and bringing home numerous trophies. This success was attributed to the exceptional leadership of the class of 2024 seniors and the commitment of our dedicated cadets.
In the 2022 - 2023 school year alone, we were able to bring home a total of 43 trophies. Winning first place overall at Austin McNeil and Corsicana, as well as second place overall at Wylie East and Abilene competitions!
We highly encourage all cadets to consider giving it a try, especially those who are new and looking to expand their knowledge about JROTC.
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the cadets have pushed through it all and earned a total of 22 trophies. Ever since then, our school has gained recognition from all over the state for our success, which has our opponents striving to beat us at all competitions.
