Each STEM Student begins a portfolio as a freshman. They work with their homeroom advisor to develop a website that will serve as an example of their work and experiences that can be used as a sample for future jobs and colleges. The portfolio requirements are reviewed every year with our business and community partners at our Advisory Council Members so we can ensure the requirements bet prepare our STEM students for their post secondary journey.
We have some great examples of PBL K-12 STEM Engineering and PBL Design Challenges. Students compete on the school level and then travel to a business/community partner or participate in a Zoom STEM Showcase to discuss their winning designs which includes walking through the design cycle process. They reflect on their challenges, success, and struggles. This has been a valuable part to creating STEM Student Mentors with our high school students and younger STEM students.
