CCHS STEM teachers work together planning integrated lessons and designing cross-curricular opportunities for students during weekly PLC's. Teachers use this time to plan data driven instruction, cross curricular lessons, STEM PBL's, and integrate STEM community partners into their lessons. STEM teachers also work collaboratively to plan grade level Problem Based Learning projects which center around STEM students collaborating within their STEM homeroom time to solve real world problems.
Teachers complete an action plan for first semester classes to integrate STEM and NON STEM classes.
Teachers familiarize themselves with the new NC DPI State Rubric to align their instruction.
Teachers meet at the University at North Carolina at Charlotte to plan grade level PBL's which integrate all subject area content throughout a year long project. Each grade level selects a STEM topic to generate a year-long PBL which culminates each Spring.
