Since our program's founding in 2012, our school has become engaged in a STEM ecosystem across North Carolina. Below are some examples:
Connecting our STEM students through Skype and Facebook Live to create virtual collaborative projects. We are also a
Participating in the STEM Alliance ecosystem which has allowed for our STEM leadership and teachers to connect with other STEM schools.
Participating in a quarterly Cabarrus County STEM Business Advisory council which includes the following: 3 different colleges/universities, a wide range of business partners from the different STEM fields, STEM Coaches and district level support staff, and administrators from our STEM schools. The agendas for our business advisory council range from interactive work on our K-12 STEM policies and procedures. These meetings help to cement the bonds between local businesses and our Central Cabarrus STEM program.
Our school STEM website provides students, parents, community members, and business partners with up to date information on extracurricular opportunities, STEM events, and college and career readiness information (through the guidance portion of the website). Our Remind system also allows us to make real time announcements to our students and parents. Keeping them in the loop is imperative to the success of our program.
