The purpose of the Slingshot Project is to practice recording the steps of a project on a web-portfolio.
In this image, I am cutting the wood to eventually finish cutting into sling shots. In this photo, I'm actually helping one of my friends cut their wood, but I put this photo on here becaus there werent any of me working on mine.
In this image, I am sanding down my slingshot, which will very soon be painted and set out to dry. This part of the process was slightly frustrating, as it was very easy to get splinters in your fingers.
This is an image of my painted sling shot drying on the shelf. I painted the inside edges yellow, the outside edges orange, and the rest of the sides were painted red.
Describe the final results:
I had a ton of fun making my slingshot. I learned about the importance of measuring before you cut, and how to use a jigsaw. I am proud of my finished sling shot.
What do you know now that you didn't know when you started this project?
I now know how to work with a jigsaw.
I have learned how to properly attach a piece of wood to a sawhorse.
I have learned that I really enjoy woodworking, and want to continue exploring it.
What advice would you give to a future students about this project?
I would tell the future students that it is very helpful to pick your seat wisely, because if you sit somewhere where you can get work done, you will get through things much faster.
What else would you like to try that you didn't have time for?
I would want to create a more detailed and smooth slingshot.
What proof do you have that shows you learned the project's purpose?
My proof is this portfolio page, which shows that I have practiced the steps of a project portfolio page.
