Semester one Learning Target: I can demonstrate growth in the five areas of ELA: reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary development, grammar, and oral & digital communication.
For my final novel project, I decided to make Senor Saguaro (the ancient saguaro cactus that characters in the book often spoke to), and Barney (the Paleocene rodent skull that belongs to Archie) out of clay. This is the link to my writing piece.
If I had more time to work on this project, I would have spent more time detailing my clay creations. I would have liked to spend more time designing and perfecting the things that I made. I believe this project showed growth when it comes to my writing skills. I practiced using even more descriptive adjectives, and adverbs.
When we were writing our personal narrative in ELA, I chose to write about an adventure I had that is based on truth. I wrote about getting trapped in an avalanche, and the base of the story was me getting lost at Grand Targhee. This is the link to my narrative.
If I had more time to work on this project, I would have put more detail into my writing. I would also like to make my narrative a bit longer, and I would like to add more to the mysterious character. This project demonstrates growth, because I improved my writing from my first draft to my final draft. We also did peer critiques which really helped improving eahc of our writing.
