Yo-yo

WHAT WAS THE POINT?

The point of the yo-yo project was to learn how to document and to work on our web portfolio.

Journal entry #1

I used a hole saw (an attachment to a drill that makes holes) to make two circles out of plywood. I then sanded one of my discs so it was smooth to the touch  and wrote my name on both of them. I still need to sand one of them

Journal entry #2

Today, I finished sanding my circles and started painting. I used painter's tape (which is a tape that doesn't pull of paint from the yo-yo) and then cut a dowel for the axel.

Journal entry #3

Today, I glued my dowel on my two discs and  attached the string. I also took a lot of gifs.

Questions

What do you know now that you didn't know when you started this project?

I know how to use a hole saw and found out how to use painter's tape

What advice would you give to future students about this project?

Make sure to put the painter's tape  on really tightly. I didn't and it didn't create  a straight line.

What else would you like to try that you didn't have time for?

I would like to try marking geometric shapes onto the yo-yo and seeing what they look like while it spins.

What proof do you have that shows you learned the project’s purpose?

I now know how to make my web - portfolio look tidy and polished. I also know how to document my journal entries.
