The purpose of the video production project is to experience how outlining and planning are important to creating high-quality work.
To start our video production unit off, we did a script writing practice. We watched a short video called"morning routine" and then chose a scene to write in script format.
we are making a video that we call Taste Test. It is about a chef who loses their sense of taste through covid and starts a fail show.
We made a storyboard today. To make it, we drew simple pictures and glued them onto black poster board. Unfortunately, it got recycled before I had a chance to take a picture.
After practicing writing the script from Morning Routine, we wrote the script for our short movie. It had to be under 11 pages long. we only did 9 pages, but it somehow turned into a 15 minute video.
we started filming some bed shots- this is where I lose my sense of taste due to covid.
Today, we finished filming our video! unlike the first week, where we got one scene done, today we got five scenes done!
numbering is a bit boring. but then again, after you finish, it's fun to edit. sadly, capcut only lets one person edit, and we used Bo's computer. we had some difficulties downloading the files, and so Bo had to go home and finish editing. (so sorry, Bo).
What do you know now that you didn't know when you started this project?
The light and camera setup have to be almost exactly where they were before and it can be quite complicated sometimes.
What advice would you give to future students about this project?
Make sure that you have you're costumes as exactly same as you can. We didn't on some shots and it looked kind of sloppy.
What else would you like to try that you didn't have time for?
I would like to try to re-film some scenes and try to act more casual and not like I was acting for the camera.
What proof do you have that shows you learned the project’s purpose?
We finished our short movie, and stayed organized through the process.
