School-Home Communication
We are excited to partner with you in order to make this school year as successful as possible for your student! We recognize that the move to third grade is a BIG transition, so the third grade team strives to keep you as informed as possible.
Ways we will keep you informed:
Thursday Folders - As the name suggests, this folder will come home with your student each Thursday. It will contain graded papers, school flyers, and the weekly newsletter.
Weekly Newsletters & Emails - These contain important dates and information from the grade level as well as administration and PTO.
Weekly Homework Sheets - Students receive these each Monday, and they come home each day. Information about daily behavior and upcoming assignments and tests are included on the homework sheet.
Class and Grade Level Websites - Our team creates these resources to help you and your student, and to provide safety nets in the event of problems. Our goal is to give you as much curriculum assistance as possible, and we make great effort to keep these resources as up-to-date as possible.
Parent-Teacher Conferences - We are happy to schedule a conference with you as needed.

What we need from you:
Please check your student's Thursday Folder each week. Look over the papers, sign and return as requested. Please return the folder as soon as possible.
Please take 5 minutes to scan the weekly newsletters and emails we send, and then make note of important dates and information by putting it on your calendar or sticking the newsletter on the fridge to remind you.
Please check your student's homework sheet daily. If there's a behavior concern, please discuss it with your student. Help your child stay on top of his/her responsibilities by reminding them of due dates and helping them study.
Please refer to the class and grade level websites whenever possible. Not sure when picture day is and you've lost your latest newsletter? It's on the school webpage. Has your child lost their spelling list? It can probably be found in at least two places before emailing a teacher (class webpage, spelling website).
Please contact us by note, phone, email, or other method (Dojo, Remind, etc.) any time there is something we should know about your child.
