What's Different this Year?

4K thru 2nd Grade

  • Students receive a standards –based report card
  • Students are recognized with the Academic GOLD Award (Exceeding Standards), Academic SILVER Award (Meeting Standards) , or Academic GROWTH Award (Exhibited Growth) in one or more of the core academic areas

3rd thru 12th Grade

  • Students receive traditional grades.
  • Students are eligible for Honor Roll each nine-week grading period if achieving on grade level in the core academic areas of reading, writing, math, science/health, and social studies:
        1. All A’s =All A Honor Roll
        2. A’s and B’s or All B’s=A-B Honor Roll

10-point grading scale:

  • A - 90-100
  • B - 80-89
  • C - 70-79
  • D - 60-69
  • F - 59 and below

MAP Testing

  • Given 3 times per year
  • Reading & Math
  • MAP scores will be sent home

SC Ready (End of Year State Testing)

Math: multiple choice questions on third grade standards

ELA: multiple choice grammar questions & a written text-dependent analysis (TDA), in which students will read a passage and respond to a prompt about it, using evidence from the text to support their answer

Reading: Students will read passages (both fictional and informational text) and answer multiple choice questions about them.
